ONSTAR wins Radio Mercury Award

Since OnStar was first introduced nationally, Cerny/American has worked with Campbell Ewald of Detroit on the radio and television advertising for the campaign. We did the national casting for both radio and television. Rick Elliott of Innovative Artists was the voice of OnStar for the first three years. Additionally, the OnStar campaign brought several hundred talent jobs to Chicago during that period of time. Rick’s “OnStar -- Always there, always ready” became one of the most memorable and often imitated lines on radio. Cerny/American helped capture the distinctive real sound of the campaign, with creative recording methods and casting. We also cast the current national voice of OnStar, John Hoogenakker of Stewart Talent. The Mercury Award is America's most prestigious award for radio commercials.
