Cerny/American’s first studio, The Grand, was completed on April 1, 1989.  (As a result, April Fool’s day has always been Cerny/American’s adopted national holiday.)  The Grand Studio was built around a Neve Class A Discrete Recording console. (To this day, all Cerny/American recording sessions are recorded on Neve Class A Discrete preamps and, the studio has more channels of Class A Discrete sound than any other studio in Chicago.)   Quality has always been the primary focus of Cerny/American Studios.  As we have grown, each studio has been built to produce the highest levels of sound recording.  Our studios are not generic studios, but purpose built facilities to achieve specific objectives.  For example, our Sound to Picture Theatre was built to finish sound to picture projects; as a result it is the most complete sound to picture facility in Chicago and attracts more feature film work than any other studio.  The Grand was built to do great radio.  Its large recording room was designed to accommodate large radio casts.
